Former health secretary Andy Burnham has formally launched his bid to be the next leader of the Labour party.
Speaking in his Leigh constituency this evening, Mr Burnham said he wanted to "put the heart and the soul back into the Labour party."
"I'm here to launch my campaign to be leader of the Labour party...I'm Leigh MP and I'm proud of that, but I want to go further, because there's more I want to do," he said.
Describing himself as "a Labour man through and through," he acknowledged some of the party's failings in power.
"We did some brilliant things when were were in government but also we've got to acknowledge that at times we lost our way and we got it wrong.
